Substitution - Use a computer to record class survey results, compare the primary subculture with classmate and draw conclusions

Augmentation - Use a spreadsheet to record class performance in secondary cell lines results and generate graphs to visually compare data with classmates and draw conclusions

Modification - Email a picture and result  to community members and other local businesses to gather and compare data, generate graphs and draw conclusions

Redefinition - Post a secondary cell lines picture online to gather responses from a global audience, compare data, generate graphs and draw conclusions and share results allowing for feedback from the global audience

  1. Using computer to record the results is a direct substitution for the notebook.
    The data collected is compared with the rest of the class and also graphs is not only an improvement but also helps in the transformation of the learning as they get to compare data with local community and global audience in later stages.

  2. The author has incorporated appropriate tools in her lesson. Using PowerPoint at the substitution stage will help the students to come out of the monotonous conventional classroom setup. Powerpoint would help to disseminate information in a more simple manner and would help to increase the retention level of the students.
